quality house EP with vocal & deeper tracks to keep fans of this great label more than happy..!
Dynamodyse is the deepest German we know and he is hailing from Dortmund, usually only known for sausages and the odd good result of the local football team. As we don’t believe in stereotypes and we have been listening to loads of superb Teutonic house music these last years, we never questioned the association between the words deep and German and we just listened to the music. Safe to say it blew us away.
The E.P. kicks off with ‘Gare Du Nord’. Kicking off is the right word because this track immediately goes into stellar mode, only to fly higher as soon as that heavenly vocal comes into the mix. Next up is ‘Breath’, a deep house track like they are very rarely heard. You can single out all the elements of a typical deep house track: a smooth kick, a sexy bassline, a simple snare and clap, but this track is way more than the sum of its parts, leading to pure deep house delight.
On the flipside things start of with ‘Paname’, a track reminiscent of St Germain before he got too fluffy. Jazz is lurking around the corner but gets firmly left there by more deep house magic. That’s how we like our jazz: lurking in the corner but not strutting in and destroying the show. Dynamodyse finishes the proceedings with ‘Trocadero’, the deepest track of the E.P. and a stunning piece of musicianship and timing.
