New Nod Navigators featuring DIZZ1. 5 sick, instrumentals with his crossover bass sound. Some of these tracks have already been getting air play from Mary Ann Hobbs and Benji B on BBC radio + biggups from the likes of Mark Pritchard (Harmonic 313).. Tip !
In 2004 the Australian turntablist and producer Dizz1 a.k.a. Dave Norris was on tour when a serious accident occurred. An unfortunate series of events caused Dizz1 to partially shatter his neck, causing him to become paralyzed from the neck down. A miracle doctor fixed his bone structure and spinal cord which, above all expectations, ended the paralyses. Long story short the lucky bugger got his feel back ! Luck was definitely on his side since a couple of years before he also managed to survive from a serious car crash.
Fast-forward to today, after some time of rehabilitation in the studio (where else?) Dizz1 entered the 3rd round and came up with a batch of serious bangers. He was invited for the Red Bull Music Academy where he met up with Om'mas Keith from Sa-Ra. The result was the early 2009 underground hit 'We Go Ridin', which will probably feature on his full album, somewhere in 2010.
'3rd Time Lucky' is already the 8th establishment on the Nod Navigators imprint serving you with a nicely cooked up 5-track bass crossover for instant dance-floor mayhem. Containing:
'Frazzled' a Turkish delight turned into a wild-eyed monster. 'Walkon' delivering you the O.S.T. to that one recurring dream of being captured in a crystal made maze. 'Somewhat?' and 'Here We Go Again' are the low slung additions on which pacman practices his hip throws and street fighter 2 becomes reality to hit you in the face with a sonic boom.
Finally 'Rirrr' dj favorite and secret weapon is in Dizz1's words "my halftime version of 'Your The Voice' by John Farnham with the Wiggles band accompaniment playing Dorothy the dinosaur at the same time. (John walked off stage after the first bar...)".
Already supported by Benji B, Gilles Peterson and Mary Ann Hobbs and big-ups from the likes of Mark Pritchard a.k.a. Harmonic 313 !
