In the late-1960's Venetta Fields, Robbie Montgomery and Jessie Smith, then know as The Ikettes, defected from Ike Turner's camp and re-emerged as The Mirettes. They went on to release two powerhouse albums of thick, sweaty soul/funk - "In The Midnight Hour" (on Revue in 1968) and �Whirlpool� (Uni 1969).
