Thelonius (Theo) & BlackCash, back at it with this series of funk & soul 45s.
1968 Soul Funk, Basement party anthem gets nice clean drum break (Edit). We all know history of this track which Biz Markie sampled for the 1989 Hit "Just a Friend", and also sampled for Ghostface Killah's "Save Me Dear" in 2004. Jay Dilla also sampled the drums off this track for Tibe Called Quest and Slum Village productions.
Get the party mood just right when they hear those hard snapping drums, and those famous piano chords every one be ready thinking they are gonna hear Biz Markie
Ike Turner & The Kings of Rhythm - Getting Nasty (Edit)
An instrumental funk party jam with it's catchy piano chord hook & drum break caught the ear of Los Angeles hip-hop group Jurassic 5, who sampled part of the verse for the Concrete Schoolyard" on their Jurassic 5 EP.
Ike just wanted to keep the groove, reflecting a more traditional and simple funk popularized by acts such as Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band, Baby Huey, The Bar-Kays and Brother Jack McDuff, among others.
