4 uptempo steppers cuts of the Cornell Campbell roots classic 'Jah Give Us Love'. Comes with a minimal dubbed out piece by Prince Far i 'Tenastelin' and then 2 further cuts on the flipside Charlie Chaplin with 'Air is Polluted' and a dub version. Produced by Roy Cousins and comes in a hand stamped bag. Big and broad.
Another strong release from Pressure Sounds via the seemingly extensive vaults of producer Roy Cousins. A 10" time machine that effortlessly transports the listener back to Reggae's golden era. Have to confess to being completely unaware of these tracks, which is always a bonus.
As it says, four versions of a very good C. Campbell Steppers.
Prince Far I's voice of thunder is always welcome.
Charlie Chaplin, a strangely under-recorded artist I feel, recorded one of my all time favourite couplets, "Every morning mi wake up, mi under God vibes, Pray fi the wicked man ship it capsize." Great tone o' voice, and as they used to say, "he sit down on a riddim like a lizard pon limb. A great toast from the bong diddly-diddly era of toasting.
Not sure who mixed the Dub but it's just the way I like it, lots of percussion and hand drumming.
