Self-described as "not for these times", "a revivalist" and a "futurist", his spiritual, soulful, conscious R&B owes credit to Lonnie Liston Smith, Patrice Rushen, Miles Davis and Stevie Wonder, also not of these times. Coultrain has been featured on releases by Sureshot Symphony Solution (Nature Sounds), Hawthorne Headhunters (Plug Research), and Platinum Pied Pipers (Ubiquity), and has an unreleased full-length collaboration with Detroit legend Waajeed.
