Eddie ‘Flashin’ Fowlkes has always fancied himself as the forgotten producer of the Detroit militia; a point which he explicitly points to on the title of this new release for the Detroit Wax imprint. “Unsung Hero” is, interestingly enough, un-Detroit sounding, rolling on a 2-step groove and breezy keys which would slot in nicely against the mellower end of UK garage. On the flip “We Need More” takes a stripped approach to house with some strange and submerged vocals from Don Q and restrained organ stabs.
