Charted by

A Third version of 'Make It Sweet' originally recorded by Coke Escovedo. This version recorded without horns in 1975 has a raw funk approach compared to the other soulful versions yet still captures the rich soulful melodies in rhythm and vocals. Check!
This version is as powerful a song as the other versions thanks to Herman Eberitzsch bringing the funk on the Fender Rhodes...
Bass and drums are highlighted on this version featuring Bobby Vega's (Sly Stone) thunderous bottom end. Linda Tillery who sang on both the Coke Escovedo version and the HE3 Project single is on vocals along with Johnny Lovett.
The instrumental on the B Side has a 30-second drum break!
Could this be the best version yet? It's hard to say... But it is certainly equally as good as the previous two versions.
