Four tracks comprise the EP. The first, “Beyond Death Is the Vast Ocean Of Nothingness,” is simply a sludgy bass recapitulation of the brothers’ shared sentiment that life is merely a muted, lengthy, film noir in which we watch the world eat us bit by bit, too drugged on media, prescriptions, and the booze to care enough to do anything about it. Next is “Sunrise (The Gates Of Hades Remix)”, demonstrating the lightness of dark. It is a pleasant journey via washy waves of reverberating beats and plucked guitars to the unpleasant gates of hell. The B-side includes “Politicizing the Plight Of the People,” a rhythmic, funky tribute to the toppling of despotic regimes that really gets you moving. Finally, the second track on the B-Side is “AV Is Set, All Systems Online,” which simply asks if being the world’s superpower holds any intrinsic meaning at all when people are starving and high school graduation rates are hovering at a whopping 50%. In all, these four works present a fair distillation of how these lads channel the frustrations of generations into a creative outlet.
