Beautiful collection of songs from these legends of early (50's / 60's) Jamaican Dancehall..TIP!
Collecting works by Queen Patsy (aka Millicent Todd) both as a solo act and in duet with Stranger Cole, this disc brings together twenty four remastered tracks all recorded under the supervision of Sonia Pottinger, one of the Jamaican music industry's leading female figures. In a late '50s/early '60s musical climate, bustling with the influence of American R&B, Patsy began to forge a career as a vocalist, eventually meeting her match in the then up-and-coming Pottinger around 1965. The resultant recordings stand the test of time as classic, vintage ska - and what's more the presentation on this Rock-A-Shacka Japanese edition is excellent, with a booklet filled with contextual and biographical information.
