Tony Ollivierra begins 2011 by getting down with the machine sound. Bordering on acid-funk, this EP gets it shakin'.
The title track Jericho, reeks of the latter days of disco with a deep bass line that fades in and takes control of the party. A warm synth chord then kicks in along with some strings which build up to a peak time climax.
Nag Champa captures a deep and surreal groove with a sweet aromatic feel that definitely is burning. The dark bass line entangles the listener in a sensual moment while a resonant synth riff tops it off.
On the flip , Midi Aura begins with an uncompromising synth bass line that does not quit. The sequence bubbles onward and a thick chord sweeps through the arrangement opening up into a placid apex of harmony. The aura of this midi is feel good all the way.
Lastly Jack Box, another acid track that works the cutoff and resonance into a climax of delightful poly rhythm and melody.
Jericho will be a very limited vinyl press and will be the final project on the Ibex Music label.
2011.
