2. Philadelphia International All-Stars - Let's Clean Up The Ghetto (Full Length Stereo Version - Danny Krivit Edit)

Legendary New York DJ Danny Krivit follows up his recent 'Edits By Mr. K' release on Strut with a new third 12" from the album featuring loud pressings of two of the exclusive edits featured on the album, Milton Hamilton's 'We Have All The Time' and a new stereo, full length edit of Philadelphia International All-Stars' social commentary classic, 'Let's Clean Up The Ghetto' !
The Milton Hamilton cut is lifted from the 1976 LP 'Disco Madness' on Tito Rodriguez' TR label and was one of the earliest projects Bob Blank was involved with as a producer. Krivit explains, "I was big into the hustle, and when I heard Milton's 'My Love Supreme', I bought his album. Right off, I loved this song and played it a lot at Ones (an early Krivit residency). There was a long period where I never touched it but, hearing it now, it sounds fantastic."
'Let's Clean Up The Ghetto' featured the full all-star Philly International cast including the vocals of six of the label's biggest acts. The Krivit edit takes a particular part of the vocal and uses extensive portions of the instrumental version, previously only available on a promotional 12" single. "As much as I like Lou Rawls' voice, his lyrics here are about roaches and crime and it kills the dancefloor. So I cut that part out, and focused on a certain part of the instrumental for the intro, so it was a little more mix-friendly, then solo-ed it out for the end."
