Dwayne Omarr has been in the shadows as a ghost writer, vocalist, and producer for many years, creating songs for many artists with major deals, even reaching number one on the charts Stateside. He has, so far, generally preferred to remain behind the scenes... until now.
Dwayne grew up in Boston, was first interviewed by Tom Bergeron, and featured on the NBC program Superkids at age 14 for his ability to play multiple instruments. 1978 a young Dwayne traveled to New York with 'Prince Charles' Alexander to record "Bush Beat" for the project
known as Slyck on Solid Platinum Records Label, which was a highly successful cult single around the world. Charles introduced Dwayne to Maurice Starr, and they collaborated on another one of Omarrs' classics "This Party's Jam Packed", originally on Survivor Records. He spent the rest of the 80s touring, writing and producing - either his own work or for other artists.
Now he's linked up with Rephlex to release the highly anticipated "Multi Funk" album, an unashamed funk-rock, electro-funk showcase featuring new tunes plus favourites like "Save The Children", "Breakdown New York
Style", "Mr. Gigolo", and others.
