Umpqua Fire is a subtle change from Remy’s previous recording, Peeling In The Drum/Comical Cheating, released in April. But while that album was also barren in its sonic approach, it contained many of the West Coast synths. Also, that project was slightly more upbeat than its successor, as evidenced by songs like “Donatell” and “Come One Now”. On Umpqua Fire, Remy further strips his sound and presents a product unconfined by geographical region. Check!
