The album collects songs culled from Arthur Russell's private tape archive, spanning from the very early seventies to the mid eighties, and is themed around the folky country pop rock (but still very experimental) side of Arthur Russell's musical practice. Brilliant stuff that in places sounds as fresh as alot of the modern folk coming sounds being realesed today.

These songs are arguably what underpins all his other more out-there disco, electro, and avant-garde recordings, and as such they are a real delight for any fan to hear - not only are they enjoyable in their own right, but they also enrich your understanding of his other stuff!
