Overlast, born 86, has been playing drums since he was able to reach them. As soon as he discovered other production tools, he began to layer synth sounds and start to experiment with old amplifiers and mixers. Then he started listening to artists as The Beatles and got heavy influenced by the way they treated sound. Right now his drums remind of us of some early Motown stuff, while his production brings up memories of the electronic funk movement at the end of the 90s.
The title track, 'Sister Envelope', has that exact filtered, raw, signature Overlast sound. Second track on the A-side, The Glasspaper is a real crowd mover. It starts off easy, and evolves into a house type stomp track. Dont know about the glass papers? It gets burned before you inhale and, please, let Overlast guide you.. On the B-side Sister Envelope gets remixed by UMOD and please read that backwards. For those who remember, it did give us a bit of the 80s M/A/R/R/S vibe. But this one twisted to be one of the finest starters of 2007.. Make sure you'll get your hands on this limited edition, cause it will be hand painted !
