After her 'Worthnothings' EP released earlier in 2006, here's the debut full length from this 22 yrs old artist. She comes out of a family of creative musicians rooted in the '60s and '70s progressive jazz scene; her father being an instrument maker for the likes of Eddie Harris, her mother has performed with Pharoah Sanders. This 'musical luggage' of jazz and soul along with growing up in the hiphop era colours the sound on this album. She wrote the lyrics, sings them and did the beats herself! Breaking boundaries is perhaps the first thing that springs to mind when going through the tracks on this album. The rhythmic arrangements here as well as her vocals are not like anything else. Tip!
