On their debut CD 'Everything Is Closer', Strange Attractor razes the edges of jazz, ambient and soulful electronica, combining Niels van Hoorn's unique approach to bass clarinet and impressive arsenal of saxophones and other acoustic and electronic wind instruments and effects with the arranging and production skills of Richard van Kruysdijk,who is also responsible for all other instruments (keyboards, drums, electronics,..) and artwork. Broken beat lovers will appreciate the versatile rhythmic drive, sometimes complex, but always dedicated to the groove, whereas ambient fans are treated to some lush textures, delicately woven by electronica and a wide range of (manipulated) brass and wood wind instruments.On top of this, special guest vocals by such diverse singers as Edward Ka-Spel (The Legendary Pink Dots), Richard Sinclair (Caravan, Hatfield & the North) and Marie-Claudine Vanvlemen (Sonar Lodge) add even more colour to the rich sound palette of this release.
