A joint release between Arne Weinberg ( Downlow / Keynote-Groundzero / Starbaby / Headspace..) and Shawn Rudiman ( Integrated / 7th City ) each taking care of one side. The A side comes from Shawn Rudiman; the openings track 'Gruva' is a deep and driving techno track with nice kicks and a cool 'flute' like melodic theme. The A2&3 trks are loose, almost beatless tracks with 'bending' synth sounds and some soulful vocal input on the latter track. Detroit flavoured technosoul! On the flip, Arne Weinberg also comes with 2 detroit flav. tracks. 'In between' is a tight track that drives on no-nonsense beats and opens with light, short guitar stabs & desillusioned stringwork that adds a dramatic element. Good offbeat programming in the breaks. 'My Testimony' is a lighter ofbeat track with thin strings and soft vocals in the break.
