Headspace Recordings has lain dormant for the past two years, while Tom Churchill and Raeph Powell concentrated on setting up the Emoticon recordings offshoot. With Emoticon focusing on abstract techno, broken beats and home-listening electronica, Headspace is free to specialize in deep techno/house with a more club-based sound. 'Spaces/Leisure' is the first in a series of collaborative, split-artist EPs planned for the coming months. The idea is simple: two artists each contribute a track, with each artist then remixing the other's track. Future releases will see Tom Churchill teaming up with Glasgow's Rei Loci and Belgium's Fabrice Lig (aka Soul Designer). Fabrice Lig has also featured 'Spaces' on his forthcoming 'DJs Take Control' mix CD for Keep Diggin. While Tom Churchill is known for setting up Headspace and Emoticon, Dennis Desantis is a relative newcomer with a debut album on Kanzleramts K2O sub-label. Nice, Tip !
