The long awaited solo debut from phillie's Jazzy Jeff is set in a laidback atmosfear and
features a wide range of underground and more well known artists. Solid beats and jazz
fuelled samples together with often live played bass- and keywork come through on almost every track and make this album easy to just listen to or to dance to, whichever you prefer. Gil Scott drops her sublime voice over 'We live in Philly', a dope live remake of this Roy Ayers track ( we live in Brooklyn ) and is joined by ?love doing drums/percussion ! Erro ( from Osunlade's Yoruba records ) borrows his voice on 'Rock with you' , a dreamy r'b track with laidback bounce. Old time hiphop survivor Freddie Foxx comes through on 'Scram' , a more straight up hiphop joint with killer bassline showing his verbal skillz. V, who also worked with Masters at Work does a contribution on 'My peoples', a midtempo soultrack with big energy. Other contributions come from Baby Blak from Ill-advised, J-live!, The Last Emperor ( underground hiphop talent from Philadelpia), Chef word, Cy young etc. Enough said and so much not mentioned .... Almost every track is good !! A true must slash huge tip !!!!!
