This album from 1968 was inspired by the collection of poems from english poet William Blake.
David Axelrod set seven of them to music using a collection of studio musicians. Using a rock orchestra, Axelrod created a suite that blended pop, rock, jazz, theater music, and R&B. The track 'Holy Thursday' is an example of that. Also check out the title track.
