Presenting Blackwater, a duo of geographical drifters whose outernational grooves draw on sounds snatched from their travels. A-side Istanbul began as a recording snared while hanging out of a speeding taxi, somewhere between Karaköy and Beyoğlu; the push of rain and traffic mixing with blared advertisements. B-side Woodstock builds around chimes sourced from the snowy hinterlands of Upstate New York. Melancholic melodies rubbing against hand drums; gradually unravelling, with a deep and dubby finish in the spirit of Wareika Hill, and patterns of ritualistic Haiti.
